Artist-Run Dialogues

Artist-Run Dialogues conversationally unfolds the stories, languages and challenges connecting artist-run spaces internationally today. Revealing a polyphony of voices actively engaged in re-thinking the identity and meaning of the ‘artist-run’, this publication raises urgent questions about the present and future of collective models of self-organisation.

Conversations with artist-run spaces are plotted along four conceptual coordinates — semantic forms, duration, precarity and solidarity — to produce a cartographic toolkit that can act as a guide to the shared forms of these projects, providing both a survey of the existing terrain and a guide for new endeavours that may emerge in the future.

Artist-Run Dialogues was conceived as a research platform and publication by Ariana Kalliga.
